Join us this summer as Complete Chess brings a fun, challenging, and enriching chess camp to NEISD schools! This engaging camp welcomes students of all experience levels, from beginners learning the basics to more experienced players looking to sharpen their skills. Through interactive lessons, guided play, puzzles, and hands-on challenges, campers will learn and strengthen chess fundamentals, explore strategy and tactics, practice planning ahead, and discover how to think critically under pressure. Students will participate in friendly competitions, team activism and creative chess challenges designed to build confidence and enjoyment of the game. Along the way, campers will develop important life skills such as focus, patience, sportsmanship, self-awareness, and collaboration, all while having fun and making new friends. In this hands-on kids' cooking class, young chefs will explore recipes from America's First Cookbook, bake Independence Cake, and taste traditions inspired by the 13 Colonies, From Mount Vernon to Johnny Appleseed's orchards, we'll celebrate history through delicious dishes - because We the Kids can cook like the Founding Foodies! The comprehensive driver education course includes 32 hours of classroom instruction as well as 7 hours of behind-the-wheel instruction, and 7 hours of observation with a licensed instructor. All classroom teachers and driving instructors are NEISD employees who are licensed by the state to instruct driver education. Students will additionally need to complete 30 hours of driving with their parent. Our 7-Step Program Flyer and FAQ can be found by clicking this link. The posted schedule is for the completion of the classroom instruction only, which is completed in person. On the 4th day of classroom instruction, students will be provided the certificate to obtain their permit. Once their permit is obtained, students will have access to our behind-the-wheel scheduling system, which allows them to select available drives at their convenience. Scheduling behind-the-wheel is completed by the parent and student. When registering for the comprehensive course, please make sure to complete and return the contract by/on the first day of instruction. Students must be 15 on or before the first day of class. This program requires student and parent involvement. Detailed information about the program, including classroom room number, will be sent out the Friday before class begins.
