Enhancing Conflict Resolution SkillsHealth & WellnessThis two-night course provides an opportunity to identify and discuss conflicts we have daily. It’s how we handle conflict that determines whether we can maintain relationships or forever be “at war” with ourselves and others. You will understand the basic ingredients in what causes conflict, the importance of communication, and how to develop better listening skills. You will practice the process of resolving conflicts and learn how to attack the problem, define the issues, and move from individual positions to common goals. After this course you will know how the unmet needs involving love, belonging, freedom and fun can impact your ability to resolve daily conflicts. Certified Conflict Resolution Facilitators will instruct the course. Note: An optional $8.00 workbook fee is payable to the instructor at first class. Living Peacefully in a Stressful WorldHealth & WellnessThis two-night course provides essential life skills to understand it is possible to be stressed without being angry and productively use stress to effectively process change in everyday life. Key exercises will be covered to self-evaluate stress from a behavioral and emotional perspective. Achieving alternate responses to negative stress will be a process for change in three areas: the way you think, the way you feel and the way you act in any stressful situation. Do not believe you cannot change because of your consistently negative thinking, feelings, and actions. You will learn how to move past these events and effectively process change. Anyone, regardless of age or physical ability, can practice Tai Chi. Instructor Ming Xie has been training and teaching Tai Chi for over 30 years. Her unique teaching method attracts a variety of people from all walks of life. Hill Country Karate (13+)Health & WellnessHill Country Karate is a community sponsored program which teaches American karate in a positive, professional manner. The primary goal of Hill Country Karate instructors is to develop students mentally as well as physically by focusing on attitude, respect, and discipline.
